To enable Telnet on Windows Server 2008 follow these steps :

<!--[if !supportLists]-->2. <!--[endif]-->From the left panel in Server Manager, click on Features
<!--[endif]-->

<!--[if !supportLists]-->3. <!--[endif]-->Click on Add Features
<!--[endif]-->

<!--[if !supportLists]-->4. <!--[endif]-->From the available list of features, scroll down and select Telnet Client, then click Next
<!--[endif]-->

<!--[if !supportLists]-->5. <!--[endif]-->On the Confirmation page, click on Install

<!--[if !supportLists]-->6. <!--[endif]-->Installation of the selected feature will be initialized and started

7. <!--[endif]-->Once installation is completed, click on Close

<!--[if !supportLists]-->8. <!--[endif]-->Now open Command Prompt, and run the telnet command
