Temporary error message displays on device when policy changes are made

When a change is made in the NotifyLink ActiveSync Rules page, a temporary error message displays on the device:  “Unable to open connection to server due to security error.”  When the device synchronizes again, the error message is eliminated.

This is an issue with the device and has been observed on the:
-LG Enlighten and Viper 4G LTE
-Samsung Galaxy Note II, Galaxy Tab 10.1, Galaxy S II Epic 4G Touch, Galaxy Nexus, Galaxy Note, Galaxy S II LTE, Galaxy S II Skyrocket, Galaxy Victory, Stratosphere, Galaxy Wonder, and Nexus 10
-Pantech Breakout, Element, and Flex 
-HTC Desire X, First
-Huawei 858 Smart
-Fujitsu F-12C Globetrotter
-Motorola Droid RAZR HD, RAZR M, Droid Ultra, Moto X, and Photon Q
