Email and PIM limitations for GroupWise

There are limitations for the total number of email, contact, calendar, and task items in GroupWise that should be followed when using NotifyLink. Exceeding these limitations can cause issues when processing users on the NotifyLink system.  For GroupWise versions older than 7.0 the default limitations are as follows:

Email - Less than 4700
Calendar and Tasks combined - Less than 5000
Contacts - Less than 8000

These limitations are in place because of the way we use IMAP to process email and Novell's Object API to process PIM (or contact, calendar, and task) information.  Some of these restrictions can be lifted when using GroupWise 7.0 or higher.  You may contact Novell for instructions on adjusting these restrictions for GroupWise 7.0 and above.

If you exceed these limitations you may begin experiencing problems with NotifyLink processing your account. If the user has over 4700 email messages in his inbox then the user may stop receiving new email on his or her device.  If the user exceeds this threshold for calendar, contacts, or tasks, these items may stop syncing properly to the devices as well.
