Creating Exchange (EAS) account on a webOS device that previously had IMAP account
Posted by Donna DeEulio on 16 October 2009 04:20 PM

A Palm webOS device will not allow the creation of an Exchange ActiveSync (EAS) if an IMAP account associated with the same email address previously existed on the device.  The email address is retained by the device and will not allow the creation of another account with the same address.

To work around this you must create another IMAP account on the device with a different email address.  The email address you use does not have to be legitimate.  Any string of characters in an email address format will replace the stored address, thus freeing up the actual email address for use with an EAS account.  After the EAS account is created, delete the false IMAP account.

Should a more streamline solution emerge from testing, it will be published in this article.
