Email and PIM data are left on an ActiveSync device after user is removed from NLES

If an ActiveSync device user is removed from the NotifyLink Enterprise Server (NLES), the device retains the Email and PIM (calendar and contacts) data.

The data can be cleared from the device, however, by removing the account from the device.

On an iPhone device, tap Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendar > (account) > Delete Account.  The account and the associated PIM and email are removed.

On a Windows Mobile device, open ActiveSync and select Menu > Options > Delete

On a webOS device, open Email, then tap Menu > Preferences & Accounts > (account) > Remove Account.  Scroll to the bottom of the screen and tap Remove Email Account.

On an Android device with TouchDown, from the device Home screen, select Settings > Applications > Manage Applications.  Select TouchDown.  Tap Uninstall.

Another option is to perform a Remote Wipe on the device before removing the user from NLES.  A Remote Wipe will remove messages, contacts, calendar events and the mailbox account from the device and put the device in a pre-registration state.
