403 HTTP Forbidden

Problem: I’m receiving a ‘403 HTTP Forbidden error’ when I try to register, or do a GET/SEND on my Blackberry device.

Cause: This is usually caused by a firewall setting on the device. Even if your firewall says disabled it may have an advanced setting that is blocking the device from getting out to the internet.

Solution: The firewall location is a little different on different model devices, however it is usually under the ‘Security Options’. You need to highlight the ‘firewall’ option and click the wheel, then select ‘Reset Settings’. When you go back into the NotifyLink email client and do a GET/SEND it will prompt you for security settings. You need to select that you want to allow the connection, allow all connections and do not prompt again.
