A Remote Lookup search initiated on an iPhone device may take a long time to complete or may return a timeout error without completing. This may occur on some but not all LDAP servers.
If iPhone users experience lengthy seraches or timeout errors, a workaround is available (for 4.6 NotifyLink Enterprise Servers).
Workaround: A database flag can be changed to limit the lookup to serach on first and last name fields only.
The database value is ServerConfig.ASLDAPSimpleSearch.
If the value is set to 0, the search is conducted using the normal LDAP filter (multiple contact fields).
If the value is set to 1, the search is conducted using only the first and last name fields.
