Changing the ActiveSync server assignment on the server causes device to stop email synchronization

If a user's ActiveSync server assignment on the NotifyMDM is changed to another ActiveSync server with the same credentials, the device's email application (ActiveSync mail application or TouchDown) does not update the device's contents to match the new ActiveSync server and does not synchronize new mail.

This is an issue with the device and has been observed on:

-HTC Explorer and One V
-Samsung Nexus S
