Contacts added from the iPhone only send the contact name to the server, no other information when using GroupWise

When contacts are added onto the iPhone, only the First Name, Last Name, and Company Name are sent to the server.  Phone numbers, email addresses, and any other contact information is not sent.

This is only a problem when using an iPhone against a GroupWise PIM server.  When contacts are created on an iPhone, the name is created first.  Any additional contact information that is added to the contact is seen as a change rather than part of the original creation of the contact.  There is currently an issue where a single contact being updated multiple times during a single PIM cycle does not function properly.  Currently it is recommended to add contacts on the server side.  This information will then sync down to the device properly.
