Note: This behavior applies to both NotifyLink and NotifySync.
Behavior
When BlackBerry Facebook application is installed:
The Notify application does not detect changes to items in the BlackBerry calendar.
The Notify application does not synchronize changes originating on the server with the BlackBerry calendar.
The Notify application synchronizes deletes for all of the calendar events even though the calendar events still exist on the device.
Solution
When installing and running Facebook for the first time, you should choose not to integrate the application with your BlackBerry calendar (it is also recommended to choose not to integrate the Facebook application with the BlackBerry Address Book). If you have already enabled integration with the Calendar or Address Book, you can disable this integration in Options from within the Facebook application.
You must also remove the Facebook CICAL service record from the device service book. This is done in the device Options under Advanced Options -> Service Book. The service record should appear as “Facebook [CICAL]” in the service book list. When this service book is present on the device it prevents the Notify application from accessing the BlackBerry calendar and therefore prevents synchronization.
Note
: The CICAL service book has been observed to occasionally reappear on the device. It has not been determined what triggers this, but should a user begin to experience calendar issues again, it is advisable to check the service book list.
